DESCRIPTION:Spring is in the air! Winter is officially over! Come gather together to celebrate the spring equinox with creativity and play! \nWith only 2 weeks to go until our Goblyn Glitterball. The focus of this gatherette will be collaborative creative practices in preparation for the Ball. \nOver this weekend we will create props\, backdrops and decorations\, sew costumes\, plan and practice performances. We need all hands on deck to make this years Goblin Glitterball especially shiney. Come create and come play. There will be no doubt lots of yummy food\, cuddle puddles\, rituals\, dancing and opportunity for connection and rest in the midst of the flurry and the frenzy of creative xstacy. Come drizzle your creative juices in this salivating soup of sensation! \nRegistrations required. Recommended donation of $20 per day to cover costs\n(please bring cash for donation tin) \nThis is a camping gathering\, with some van parking spaces and limited indoor sleeping spaces reserved for those most in need.

SUMMARY:Tree planting / Glitterball planning
DESCRIPTION:At winter solstice 2022 we started a huge land-care project: planting 500 native rainforest seedlings to restore the damage faerieland sustained from the recent floods. \nJoin us this weekend for the 3rd and final panting this wet winter season! There will be yummy food\, groovy tunes and gorgeous magical beings for you to connect with. We will head out into the field at 9am\, so arrive early Saturday morning or the night before! \nAfter we finish the winter planting we will take a moment over dinner to look forward to spring and begin preparing for our annual Glitterball. This years theme will be: GOBLYN. \nIf you are interested in performing\, DJing\, creating decor\, stage management\, lighting design or are just keen to help out and get amongst it\, this is a great opportunity to connect in person and collectively conjure up this fun community event. Including deciding on what the glitterball ball will be fundraising for. Perhaps this will be the birth of a faerie arts collective?? \nNo registration required. Indoor sleeping spaces available on a first come first serve basis. Camping/Van room available. \nFree event – donations into the tin are welcome.

SUMMARY:Rebirth: Winter Solstice 2022
DESCRIPTION:As the spring flows\, the land swells and lurches. The liquified earth spills onto the moon meadow and weeds compete to colonise new niches. The Monkey Terrace now features multiple levels\, the ridge road is impassable and dams overflowing with mud have collapsed. \nThe ground is not all that is in flux at Faerieland. With the last of the founding members departing\, Griffyn and Chameleon put out a call for new energy\, and five members of the broader community have recently moved in. Spryte\, Puck\, Colours\, Cyrhs and I (Tellurian). \nWe spend our days tending the gardens and land\, dispelling stale energy from forgotten corners and most importantly\, connecting with each other. We are energised and excited to rediscover what it means to be Fae and to shine this beacon of light across the queer community. \nEach of us brings unique gifts that combined and invested here will build on the last 20 years of culture. There is an invitation implicit in that. And a welcome. With the support of the Teacosy\, Seamus\, Griffyn and Chameleon we are empowering ourselves to ignite this Sanctuary into blazing life. \nAll seemed to be elated by hope following our first ‘official’ meeting recently. Beyond sharing our own joys\, vulnerabilities and challenges\, we discussed the option of organising ourselves with a Sociocratic community structure and using a Consent Decision Making process in place of the old consensus model. \nHopefully these tools will enable us to cohesively move towards our common vision which\, incidentally\, we have been brainstorming too. What is our purpose here? What are our shared values? \nHere’s some of what we have at this point in our journey together: We are stewards of the land. We are custodians of Radical Faerie culture. We are activists. We are radical. We honour the Sacred Silly (praise be). \nAfter all was said and done at the rebirth meeting\, we drank homemade cherry wine by firelight and dreamt up all the future possibilities. A sauna; a kitchen renovation; a flock of geese; and a calendar of vibrant art and culture. \nPerhaps we’ll start by inviting you all here to a Winter Solstice Gathering. It might be an opportunity for crowdsourced answers to some of our biggest questions. \nWhat does Radical Faerie mean to you? \nWhat can this Sanctuary offer you?
