DESCRIPTION:Welcome! Faerieland’s annual bakeoff will take place at Faerieland at 11am on May 18th.\n\nA celebration of all things sugary and sweet\, savoury and wheat (or not).Bring your cakes\, your biscuits\, your slices and pies\, your quiches\, your treats\, your dazzling eyes. Taste the talent of our faerie bakers….\nDominate as many categories as possible and battle-bake off\, for the ultimate crowing glory of the 2025 Bake Off Kweeen.. so get competitive. get creative. and get…. baking.\nThis year promises to be categorically revolutionary. we encourage lateral creativity in the interpretations of the following themes:\nThe categories are: CHILDHOOD WHIMSY: show us something nostalgic from your childhood\, grandmas jam drops or chocolate crackles perhaps? Let your inner child take the reigns.\nSERVING BUNT: Dress to impress\, and more importantly\, to match your entry! Make your costume match your cake and SERVE it on the runway (it doesn’t have to be a cake specifically).\nSEXY SAVOURIES: Sweet is nice but now it’s time to get sexy\, salty and give ourselves something to really savour. We are calling in quiches\, breads and savoury scones.\nMOST CHEESIEST: Say cheese! In every way you could possibly imagine\nLEAST CHEESIEST: Vegan! We are being inclusive! You don’t need animal products to have a delicious time!\nGLUTTON FREE: Gluten Free! Signal your angelic virtues and make your gluttonous delights free from glutens!\nKEEP YOUR EYES ON THE PIES: Savoury pies! Sweet pies! Pie in the sky and pie on your eyes!\nHOMEGROWN: Did you grow this yourself? What’s in your garden? Could you put it in a pie! At least one ingredient must be home grown but more is better!\nEDIBLE ART: Make a statement with your baked goods. Get creative\, get political\, get sculptural… if you dare\n\nYou can submit as many entries as you please and each entry can be eligible for multiple categories. Invent your own category if you like!\nEntries open at 11am and close at midday. The bake off begins with a cake-walk cat-walk\, followed by judging from an esteemed panel of tastefuil (and tasteless) judges. Everyone will get to try the entries for lunch and vote for the Peoples Choice Champion! Keep your stomachs grumbling because we will have a lot of treats to eat.
